Pittsburgh Pro Series: Street Fighter 6 Tournament Series Rules

Welcome to the Pittsburgh Pro Series Street Fighter 6 tournament series! This document outlines the official rules and regulations governing the events. These rules are largely based on the Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) standards, with some modifications as deemed necessary by the tournament organizers. All participants are expected to read and understand these rules before competing. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

I. General Tournament Rules:

  1. Game: Street Fighter 6 (Latest version)

  2. Platform: PlayStation 5 (Subject to change at organizer's discretion)

  3. Format: Double Elimination Bracket (Subject to change based on number of entrants)

  4. Match Length:

    • All matches (Winners & Losers bracket) will be Best 2 out of 3 games.

    • Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals will be Best 3 out of 5 games.

  5. Character Selection: Players must declare their character at the start of their first match. Only the losing player of a set is allowed to change characters for the subsequent set. The winning player must remain with the same character. If a character change occurs, the player must inform their opponent and a tournament official.

  6. Controllers: Standard PlayStation 5 controllers, fight sticks, and officially licensed converter devices are permitted. Turbo functions are banned. Wireless controllers are not permitted. Controllers will be subject to inspection at any time.

  7. Disconnections: In the event of a disconnection, the following procedure will be followed:

    • If the disconnection occurs before a round starts, the match will be restarted.

    • If the disconnection occurs during a round, the player who disconnected forfeits that round. The round will be awarded to the opponent. A timeout will be enforced after the round is awarded to ensure neither player benefits from any potential meter gain during the disconnection. The set will continue from the following round.

    • Excessive or intentional disconnections may result in disqualification.

  8. Match Procedure: Players are expected to be present at their assigned stations at the designated match time. Failure to appear within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time may result in a forfeit.

  9. Communication: Players should maintain respectful communication with each other and tournament staff. Unsportsmanlike conduct, including trash talk, harassment, or cheating, will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.

  10. Spectator Conduct: Spectators are expected to behave respectfully and refrain from interfering with matches. Disruptive behavior may result in removal from the venue.

  11. Tournament Organizer Discretion: The tournament organizers reserve the right to modify these rules at any time, with or without prior notice, if deemed necessary for the smooth and fair operation of the tournament. The organizers' decisions are final in all matters related to the tournament.

  12. Registration Cap: Each tournament in the series is capped at 32 unique entrants.  As well the season long series being capped at 32 unique entrants.

II. Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) Core Rules (Applicable unless otherwise stated above):

The Pittsburgh Pro Series will adhere to the core rules of the Capcom Pro Tour, including but not limited to:

  1. Game Version: The latest version of Street Fighter 6 will be used.

  2. Character Legality: All officially released characters are legal for use.

  3. Match Settings: Standard tournament settings will be used. These settings will be confirmed before the start of the tournament.

  4. Glitches/Bugs: Exploiting known glitches or bugs is prohibited. Any discovered glitches should be reported to tournament officials immediately.

  5. Hardware/Software: Use of unauthorized hardware or software is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.

  6. Code of Conduct: Participants are expected to adhere to a high standard of sportsmanship and conduct.

III. Prize Pool:

The prize pool will consist of the total entrant fees collected, plus a $50 pot bonus added by the organizers. The total prize pool will be distributed among the top three finishers as follows:

  • 1st Place: 60% of the total prize pool

  • 2nd Place: 30% of the total prize pool

  • 3rd Place: 10% of the total prize pool

IV. Season Progression & Pittsburgh Pro Series Finale:

The Pittsburgh Pro Series is a season-long tournament series culminating in the Pittsburgh Pro Series Finale. The season lasts for 6 months, with tournaments occurring bi-weekly (2 tournaments per month). Throughout the season, players earn points based on their performance in each tournament.

  • Only the top 16 finishers in each tournament will be awarded points.

  • The point distribution for each placement is at the bottom of the page.

  • At the end of the season, the top 8 players with the most accumulated points will be invited to compete in the Pittsburgh Pro Series Finale. To be eligible for the Finale, players must also attend at least 6 of the Finale qualifiers throughout the season.

  • The Finale will feature a single-elimination bracket with all matches being first-to-5 (FT5).

  • The prize pool for the Finale will be distributed among the top 8 finishers as follows:

    • 1st Place: 45%

    • 2nd Place: 24%

    • 3rd Place: 15%

    • 4th Place: 8%

    • 5th-8th Place: 2% each

  • The prize pool for the Finale will be $5,000.

  • Due to processing times, please allow 30-60 days for tournament payouts.

  • All payments to be made in cash or PayPal.  If you have a preferred method of payment please inform tournament organizers or appropriate staff upon tournament completion.

V. Registration:

Registration Details for Pittsburgh Pro Series Street Fighter 6 Tournament Series

Registration for the Pittsburgh Pro Series Street Fighter 6 Tournament Series is now open! To participate, players must register online through the tournament registration platform, Start.GG. 

Venue Fee/Monthly Membership Fee:

Players must pay one of the below two fees to participate in any of the tournaments throughout the season.

  • 1 Day Venue Fee: $15 per tournament

  • Monthly Membership Fee: $30 (includes access to all tournaments in the month, with the exception of the game fee, as this is given to the players in the form of a pot)

Game Entry Fee:

  • Game Entry Fee: $5 per tournament

The game entry fee will be used to fund the prize pool for each tournament in addition to the $50 pot bonus included by the venue owners.


Registration Process:

  1. Visit the tournament registration platform, Start.GG.

  2. Create an account or log in to your existing account.

  3. Select the tournament you wish to register for.

  4. Enter your personal information and/or payment details.

  5. Review and confirm your registration.

Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions.


Important Notes:

  • Registration is limited to 32 unique entrants per tournament.

  • Registration will close 1 hour before the start of each tournament.

  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations or no-shows.

  • Players must bring their own controllers and other necessary equipment.

  • All participants must adhere to the tournament rules and regulations.

VII. Code of Conduct:

All participants are expected to maintain a respectful and sportsmanlike attitude throughout the tournament. Unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, cheating, or any other behavior deemed inappropriate by the tournament organizers will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification and/or ban from future events.


VIII. Disclaimers:

The tournament organizers reserve the right to modify these rules at any time without prior notice. Participation in the tournament constitutes acceptance of these rules.


IX. Streaming/Recording:

The Pittsburgh Pro Series will be streamed and/or recorded. By participating in this tournament, all participants agree to the use of their likeness, including their name, image, and gameplay footage, in promotional materials, live streams, recorded content, and future marketing efforts related to the tournament and the organizers. Participants also agree to be interviewed for additional marketing spots if requested by the organizers.
